My Artmaking Process

Art is one of my many passions. Ever since I was a kid, I have been a little bit of a perfectionist and really like making things look visually appealing. In school I would always look forward to my art classes. For a long time I never really had one specific media that I enjoyed but when I got to Dawson and experimented with every type of media, I found that I really liked to draw and paint and mix both. I always found that I had a hard time being creative and that I preferred drawing or painting something that was in front of me, which I still enjoy, although now, I like trying to find creative ways to add to my work. I think that my favorite way to start any art project is to sketch out my idea. I'm a very visual person and I find that it's the only way for me to make my ideas more clear and to envision my final project. I often find myself using nature as my subject matter. I love drawing or painting landscapes or buildings, especially mountains. I'm also the type of person that loves to take inspiration from pictures I've taken and recreate it with a creative approach. In university, I would love to pursue graphic design studies and learn to put creative ideas towards creating visual contents that communicate specific ideas and messages. I want to create visually captivating works that attract people's attention.
