COLORS OF NATURE

This landscape painting is an impression of reali- ty. I aimed to transform the original photograph by completely altering its colors and embracing a more abstract approach. By moving away from realistic colors, I tried to give the picture a unique and un- conventional aesthetic.

IN THE MOON

Inspired by the expression “EÌ‚tre dans lune”, this wa- tercolor painting is a literal interpretation of staring into space. I created this piece as I often find myself lost in thought, staring into space.

UP THE MOUNTAIN

This acrylic landscape painting was inspired by a photograph I captured while driving to a ski hill while on vacation out West. This was, at once, a really peaceful and exciting moment that I hoped to rec- reate on canvas. Painting landscapes is very relax- ing, it’s a process that allows me to disconnect from overthinking, and lets me immerse myself fully in the creative flow.

IN MY THOUGHTS

For this piece, I found inspiration from pop art, which is known for addressing popular cultural topics and turning them into art pieces. Similarly, I decided to explore the pervasive influence of the internet, apps, notifications and social media in our daily lives. My artwork reflects how these elements occupy our thoughts and shape our experiences.

SURREALISM IN B&W

This piece, influenced by surrealism, presents a semi-abstract composition surrounding a black and white image of lockers. The lockers sparked an as- sociation with a piano, inspiring a transformation into musical notes, which further evolved into a person riding a bike. Inspired by the locker room’s check- ered pattern, I decided to draw a chessboard into the scene.

Printmaking

‘OH, THE PLACES YOU’LL GO’

Another printmaking project, this piece was inspired by a quote from a Dr. Seuss book, which holds sentimental value to me as it evokes mem- ories of my childhood. Growing up, my parents often read Dr. Seuss books to me. This particular quote stayed with me. I created this drawing as a tribute to the book “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” that stayed with me.

ROOTS

This printmaking project represents a personal mandala, incorporating elements that reflect my identity and experiences. Inspired by the concept of balance between nature and urban life, I chose to depict a tree as the central motif. The tree’s roots and branches form a circular shape. As someone who cherishes both the tranquility of nature and the vibrancy of city living, I integrated a cityscape within the tree to illustrate this aspect of myself.

Sculptures

REACH

This abstract hand sculpture is made out of clay.
I based its position on the gesture of reaching up- ward, aiming to give it a geometric aesthetic. In cre- ating this sculpture, I incorporated various aspects of the actual hand, such as a prominent hole in the middle.

UNSTEADY

This wooden sculpture is a project I’m particularly proud of, as it sur- passed my expectations. I named it “Unsteady” because it is made of two different pieces, with one supporting the other. The sculpture re- quires a specific position to maintain its stability, which was intentional. The concept behind the project was inspired by the quote “Nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be this hard”, emphasizing the challenges and complexities of life.

Digital Art

THE ORANGE SUN

This is a digital art work I created for a fundraiser at school where we sold stickers. I designed various stickers, all following the same theme of nature and mountains with an orange sun.
